VJ Day

Today marks the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan (VJ) Day. On 15th August 1945, Japan announced its surrender to the Allied forces – which signalled the end of World War Two, after six years of fighting.

On this day, we remember and thank all those from the many nations who fought for the freedoms that we enjoy today and we honour the courage, resilience and dedication of all those who fought and served.

Thank you to everyone who came to our VJDay celebration on Wednesday 13th August.

Members of WCA and the local community came together to enjoy a day full of food, music and information, along with moments of remembrance, reflection and celebration of VJ Day.

Thank you to Our Walsall for providing funding to help to run this VJ Day Event.
